NBL top team - Perth Wildcats (10-1) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixth ranked New Zealand Breakers (4-7) in Auckland 98-93. Perth Wildcats made 34-of-43 charity shots (79.1 percent) during the game, while New Zealand Breakers only scored fifteen points from the stripe. New Zealand Breakers were plagued by 34 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for the former international guard Mitch Norton (184-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Bryce Cotton (185-92, college: Providence, agency: Pensack Sports) helped adding 24 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side American-Fijian forward Tai Wesley (201-86, college: Utah St.) responded with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Shawn Long (208-93, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four Perth Wildcats and five New Zealand Breakers players scored in double figures. New Zealand Breakers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Perth Wildcats. They maintain first place with 10-1 record. New Zealand Breakers lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. They share it with Hawks. Perth Wildcats will play against bottom-ranked Cairns Taipans (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. New Zealand Breakers will play against Kings and hope to get back on the winning track.
