Regular Season Round 16: Abejas - Huracanes 84-78

There was no surprise in Guanajuato where 7th ranked Huracanes (1-14) were defeated by fifth ranked Abejas (6-9) 84-78 on Friday. Abejas looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American center William Paul (208-88, college: Arkansas Tech) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. The other American import guard Spencer Williams (188-95, college: Wooster) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 assists and 7 steals. Swingman Manuel Hernandez (193-91) produced 23 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-94, college: Towson) added 14 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Abejas and five Huracanes players scored in double figures. Abejas maintains fifth position with 6-9 record, which they share with Santos. Newly promoted Huracanes keep the seventh place with 14 games lost. Abejas will face again Huracanes (#7) in Tampico in the next round.
