Top ranked Boomers (8-4) recorded its fourth loss on the court of fourth ranked Canberra Capitals on Friday night. Visitors were edged by Canberra Capitals 72-70. International forward Kelsey Griffin (188-87, college: Nebraska) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Canadian guard Kia Nurse (183-96, college: Connecticut) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Lindsay Allen (173-95, college: Notre Dame) produced 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international center Cayla George (192-89) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Canberra Capitals (6-2) moved-up to second place, which they share with Perth. Boomers at the other side still keep top position with four games lost. Canberra Capitals is looking forward to face Adelaide Lightning (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Boomers will play against Townsville Fire (#6) and are hoping to win this game.
