Regular Season Round 11: Bourg - Le Portel 89-84
Date: November 23, 2018
Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Le Portel (4-7) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked JL Bourg (6-5) 89-84. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. JL Bourg players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Senegalese center Youssou Ndoye (213-91, college: St.Bonaventure) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). American point guard Garrett Sim (188-90, college: Oregon) accounted for 16 points and 6 assists for the winning side. American guard Brandyn Curry (187-91, college: Harvard, agency: Inception Sports) came up with 19 points and 5 assists and Nigerian-American power forward OD Anosike (203-91, college: Siena, agency: Alti Sport) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Le Portel in the defeat. Five Le Portel players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. JL Bourg moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. Le Portel lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with seven games lost. JL Bourg's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Cholet Basket (#18) at home which should be an easy win for them. Le Portel will play against the league's leader ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
