Regular Season Round 7: United - Kings 84-82
Date: November 24, 2018
Third-ranked Kings (5-4) were very close to win a game against second ranked United (9-3) in Melbourne on Saturday. United managed to secure only two-point victory 84-82. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Kings. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-82. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Casper Ware (178-90, college: Long Beach St.) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import forward Josh Boone (208-84, college: Connecticut) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Ukrainian-American point guard Jerome Randle (175-87, college: California) answered with 35 points (!!!) (made all of his eight free throws) and American swingman Brian Bowen (201-98, college: S.Carolina) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Kings. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. United have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 9-3 record behind leader Wildcats. Kings at the other side keep the third position with four games lost. United are looking forward to face Bullets (#4) in Brisbane in the next round. Kings will play on the road against New Zealand Breakers in Auckland and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
