Regular Season Round 10: Rivas - Zentro Basket 86-84

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Rivas and 7th ranked Zentro Basket had identical 4-5 record. This time Rivas used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Madrid 86-84 on Saturday night. Rivas outrebounded Zentro Basket 52-32 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Power forward Angel Gomez (197-87) had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Javier De-Pinto (197-92) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five Rivas players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward Guillermo Bastante (201-98) responded with 20 points (made all of his seven free throws) and power forward Cristobal Gana (201-93) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Rivas (5-5) moved-up to sixth place in Group B, which they share with Pozuelo and Quintanar. Newly promoted Zentro Basket dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Rivas will face Pozuelo (#6) on the road in the next round. Zentro Basket will play against Casvi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
