Regular Season Round 19: Akita NH - SeaHorses 81-61

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th placed Aishin Sea Horses (9-10) were rolled over on the road by fifth ranked Akita Happinets (7-12) 81-61 on Saturday. Akita Happinets made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Akita Happinets outrebounded Aishin Sea Horses 36-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American power forward Justin Keenan (202-88, college: Ferris St.) fired 29 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners. Guard Ryuto Yasuoka (188-95) chipped in 23 points. American forward Kennedy Meeks (208-95, college: N.Carolina) produced 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward James Southerland (203-90, college: Syracuse) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Akita Happinets have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Akita Happinets maintains fifth place with 7-12 record, which they share with San-en. Loser Aishin Sea Horses keep the fourth position with ten games lost. Akita Happinets will face higher ranked Kyoto Hannar. (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Aishin Sea Horses will play against Fukuoka Rizing and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
