Everything went according to plan in Santander where sixth ranked Estela (6-4) outscored 8th ranked Fontedoso Carrefour (4-6) 86-67 on Saturday. Estela looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American guard Lamonte Thomas (187-90, college: J.and Wales, RI) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Argentinian guard Juan Sutina (192-90, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Estela players scored in double figures. At the losing side Senegalese center Biram Faye (206-0) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and Venezuelan point guard Harold Cazorla (175-91) scored 11 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. Estela moved-up to fifth place in Silver. Loser Fontedoso Carrefour keeps the eighth position with six games lost. Estela will face Tormes (#12) in Salamanca in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fontedoso Carrefour will play at home against Zornotza (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
