Regular Season Round 10: Quintanar - Estudio 74-79

There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Estudio (3-6) beat on the road higher ranked Quintanar (5-5) 79-74 on Saturday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-16. But Quintanar won second period 22-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Point guard Juan Llorente (192-93) scored 17 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Gabriel Rodriguez (199-90) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Estudio players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Khion Sankey (196-92, college: Lipscomb) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds and Canadian point guard Samy Mohamed (183, college: UPEI) scored 14 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Estudio moved-up to twelfth place in Group B, which they share with Liceo Frances. Loser Quintanar keeps the sixth position with five games lost. Estudio's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Madrid Estudiantes B.
