Regular Season Round 10: Tarragona - Boet 109-47

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Mataro Parc Boet (6-4) was outplayed on the road by third ranked Tarragona (8-2) 109-47 on Saturday. Tarragona dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Mataro Parc Boet's 22. Tarragona forced 20 Mataro Parc Boet turnovers and outrebounded them 45-30 including a 39-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tarragona shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 55.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tarragona made 7 blocks. Guard Adria Duch (185-95) scored 38 points (!!!) to lead the charge for the winners and center Ferran Torres (201-88) chipped in 29 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Tarragona players scored in double figures. Tarragona's coach Bernardo Alvarez felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side forward Eduard Francisco (196-98) responded with 15 points and American Nicholas Moore (198-91, college: Nyack) scored 7 points and 9 rebounds. Tarragona have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group C-A, which they share with Igualada. Loser Mataro Parc Boet dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Tarragona will face league's leader Quart at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mataro Parc Boet's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Mataro Mataro Feimat.
