Regular Season Round 10: Estudiantes L. - Chantada 58-92

There was a small surprise in Lugo where eighth ranked Chantada (4-3) outleveled 5th ranked Estudiantes L. (5-2) 92-58 on Saturday. They outrebounded Estudiantes L. 41-28 including 16 on the offensive glass. Point guard Adria Baiget (190-89) scored 24 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Cristian Iglesias (200-94) chipped in 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Chantada players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Adrian Lopez (195-91) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and forward Iker Perez (196-97) scored 16 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Chantada moved-up to seventh place in Group A-B, which they share with Gijon Basket. Loser Estudiantes L. dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Chantada will face Gijon Basket (#8) on the road in the next round. Estudiantes L. will play against PBB (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
