Regular Season Round 10: L'Hospitalet - La Roda 69-66

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked L'Hospitalet and 9th ranked La Roda had identical 3-6 record. This time L'Hospitalet used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from La Roda 69-66 on Saturday night. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-19. But La Roda won third quarter 17-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. L'Hospitalet dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to La Roda's 16. They outrebounded La Roda 41-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. Senegalese center Mouhamadou Diop (212-87) had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Joan Creus (185-92) chipped in 10 points and 10 assists during the contest. L'Hospitalet's coach Jose Manuel Hoya used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side Dominican forward Gregorio Adon (198-91) responded with 13 points and 8 rebounds and guard Jose Gonzalez (187-94) scored 17 points. L'Hospitalet (4-6) moved-up to ninth place in Silver. Loser La Roda dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. L'Hospitalet will face higher ranked Azuqueca (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. La Roda will play against Moron (#7) and hope to win that game.
