Very expected game when 18th ranked Gipuzkoa (2-8) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Valencia Basket (5-5) 77-62 on Saturday. Valencia Basket outrebounded Gipuzkoa 39-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American-Georgian Will Thomas (203-86, agency: Two Points) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Belgian point guard Sam Van-Rossom (188-86) chipped in 11 points and 8 assists during the contest. Valencia Basket's coach Jaume Ponsarnau used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side Georgian Beqa Burjanadze (201-94) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Daniel Perez (188-90) scored 11 points and 7 assists. Valencia Basket moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Andorra. Loser Gipuzkoa stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Valencia Basket will meet at home Andorra (#8) in the next round. Gipuzkoa will play against UCAM Murcia (#13) and hope to secure a win.
