Very expected game when 12th ranked Vic (2-8) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Girona Basquet (5-5) 79-68 on Saturday. Vic was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Vic 42-27 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Jordi Trias (208-80) had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Andre Berry (203, college: Rhode Island) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward Kyle Benton (201-95, college: N.C.Central) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Samuel Dominguez (204-91, college: La Palma) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Vic players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Girona Basquet moved-up to sixth place in Silver. Vic at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the twelfth position with eight games lost. Girona Basquet will face league's leader Real Murcia on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Vic will play against Menorca (#8) and hope to win that game.
