Regular Season Round 7: Karditsas - Psychiko 63-70

The game between third ranked Karditsas (4-3) and tenth ranked Psychiko (4-3) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Karditsas was defeated by Psychiko in a tough game in Karditsa 63-70. Psychiko dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Karditsas' 32. They outrebounded Karditsas 40-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Estonian Martin Paasoja (191-93) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Antonis Mantzaris (193-86) contributed with 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Spyros Magounis (200-85) answered with 13 points and guard Panagiotis Ermidis (185-87) added 10 points in the effort for Karditsas. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Psychiko have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Karditsas. Psychiko's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Marousi.
