Regular Season Round 10: Tokyo Cinq R. - Toyoda Gosei 77-66

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Toyoda Gosei (2-1) on the court of third ranked Tokyo Cinq R. on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Tokyo Cinq R. 77-66. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Toyoda Gosei. They outrebounded Toyoda Gosei 48-24 including a 36-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Deangelo Kirkland (203-89, college: Columbus St., agency: Interperformances) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Senegalese Bira Seck (204-90, college: Idaho, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American Patrick Simon (203-92, college: Seattle Pacific) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and Ryosuke Kawada (193-94) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tokyo Cinq R. maintains third position with 9-6 record having five points less than leader Koshigaya A. Toyoda Gosei at the other side dropped to the seventh place with one game lost. Tokyo Cinq R. are again looking forward to face Toyoda Gosei (#7) in Aichi in the next round. Toyoda Gosei will have a break next round.
