Regular Season Round 9: Bologna - Savonese 68-57

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Savonese (2-7) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Bologna (6-3) 68-57 on Saturday. Bologna dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Savonese's 26. They outrebounded Savonese 37-25 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was swingman Elisabetta Tassinari (175-94) who scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international point guard Raelin D'Alie (168-87, college: Wisconsin, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Bologna's coach Giancarlo Giroldi used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Slovakian center Sona Svetlikova (184-99) who recorded 16 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Federica Alesiani (168-97) added 6 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Bologna moved-up to fourth place in A2. Loser Savonese dropped to the fourteenth position with seven games lost. Bologna will face San Salvatore (#7) on the road in the next round. Savonese will play against San Giovanni (#6) and hope to win that game.
