Regular Season Round 10: Racing - Sparta 84-92

There was a minor upset in Luxembourg where one of their biggest challengers Racing (6-4) was defeated by sixth ranked Sparta (4-6) 92-84. Sparta players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American Adrian Rodgers (194-92, college: Southern) notched 29 points and 6 assists to lead the effort and the former international Dean Gindt (201-91) supported him with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 17 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists by American swingman Scott Morton (195-87, college: Geneseo St.) did not help to save the game for Racing. Power forward Christophe Laures (194-89) added 14 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Four Sparta and five Racing players scored in double figures. Sparta maintains sixth position with 4-6 record. Racing lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. Sparta will play against higher ranked Amicale (#3) in Steinsel in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Racing will play at home against Residence and hopes to get back on the winning track.
