There was an upset in San Martino di L where higher ranked Bolzano BK (5-4) was defeated by twelfth ranked San Martino (4-5) 77-61 on Saturday. San Martino forced 20 Bolzano BK turnovers. It was a great shooting night for San Martino especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. The best player for the winners was swingman Anna Profaiser (177-0) who scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Claudia Amabiglia (172-98) chipped in 13 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Lithuanian center Julita Bungaite (187-87, college: Hawaii, agency: Promotex) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized Senegalese guard Safy Fall (176-89) added 21 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. San Martino moved-up to eighth place in A2. Loser Bolzano BK keeps the sixth position with four games lost. San Martino will face Carugate (#11) in Corugate in the next round.
