Regular Season Round 10: Melsele - Gent Hawks 86-65

Top Division I top team - Melsele (8-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Gent Hawks (6-4) 86-65. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Gent Hawks. Melsele dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Gent Hawks' 24. It was a great shooting night for Melsele especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. Point guard Ivan Perez (185-90) scored 26 points to lead the charge for the winners and center Leroy Anthonis (206-90) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side power forward Joren Vermoessen (201-93) responded with 11 points and 7 rebounds and forward Gregory De-Pooter (197-84) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Melsele have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-2 record. Gent Hawks at the other side keep the fifth place with four games lost. Melsele will play against Giants B (#13) in Antwerp in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Gent Hawks will play at home against Waregem (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
