Regular Season Round 11: ASVEL - Boulazac 71-83

There was a minor upset in Villeurbanne where higher ranked ASVEL (5-6) was defeated by fourteenth ranked Boulazac (5-6) 83-71 on Saturday. Boulazac forced 27 ASVEL turnovers. The best player for the winners was point guard Victor Mopsus (182-99) who scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Forward Dylan Affo-Mama (196-99) chipped in 24 points and 6 steals. Four Boulazac players scored in double figures. Forward Felix Bastien (193-1) produced 18 points and 7 rebounds and Senegalese center Babacar Fam (204-0) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Boulazac moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated ASVEL. Boulazac will face higher ranked Strasbourg (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
