Regular Season Round 10: Albacete - Azuqueca 84-66

There was an upset when higher ranked Azuqueca (6-4) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Albacete (3-7) 84-66 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Albacete. Azuqueca was better in fourth quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Azuqueca 40-23 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Tyler Rudolph (198-96, college: Minot St., agency: Duran International) scored 22 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import Eddy Polanco (190, college: SE Louisiana) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Albacete players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Ervin Mitchell (193-94, college: Grambling St.) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Ignacio Ballespin (194-98) scored 15 points. Azuqueca's coach Sergio Vicente tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Albacete maintains eleventh position in Silver with 3-7 record. Newly promoted Azuqueca keeps the fifth place with four games lost. Albacete will face higher ranked Villarrobledo (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Azuqueca will play against L'Hospitalet and hope to win that game.
