Regular Season Round 11: Froya Basket - Asker Aliens 99-76

Rather predictable result in Laksevag where fifth ranked Froya Basket (7-5) smashed bottom-ranked Asker Aliens (1-10) 99-76 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Froya Basket. Asker Aliens managed to win fourth quarter 36-30. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Froya Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Asker Aliens' 28. They outrebounded Asker Aliens 47-31 including a 38-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Froya Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Asker Aliens' players. The best player for the winners was American forward Austin Williams (203-94, college: Drexel) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Arne Ingebrigtsen (197-90, college: Cuesta JC) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Froya Basket players scored in double figures. Froya Basket's coach Darko Mihajlovic felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Jerrod Hendricks (175-91, college: King) produced 18 points and guard Ludvig Bergh (177-98) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. The victory was the third consecutive win for Froya Basket. They maintain fifth place with 7-5 record. Loser Asker Aliens dropped to the bottom position with ten games lost. Froya Basket will meet at home higher ranked Baerum Basket (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Asker Aliens will play against Nidaros Jets (#8) in Tromdheim and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
