Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked UU-Korihait (3-10) was defeated on the road by third ranked Kauhajoki (7-5) 100-85. The game was mostly controlled by Kauhajoki. UU-Korihait was better in fourth quarter 25-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kauhajoki shot 62.5 percent from the field and made 20-of-23 charity shots (87.0 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV, agency: Blacktop Management) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and the other American import Durrell Summers (196-89, college: Michigan St.) supported him with 21 points. Five Kauhajoki players scored in double figures. Kauhajoki's coach Jussi Laakso allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 31 points by guard Marius Van-Andringa (189-94) did not help to save the game for UU-Korihait. American guard Mario Edwards (191-88, college: Co.Carolina) added 6 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Defending champion maintains third position with 7-5 record having six points less than leader Vilpas. UU-Korihait lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with ten games lost. Kauhajoki will play against Kouvot (#6) in Kouvola in the next round. UU-Korihait will have a break next round.
