Regular Season Round 10: Martorell - Mataro Feimat 77-69

There was an upset when higher ranked Mataro Feimat (6-4) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Martorell (5-5) 77-69 on Saturday. Martorell outrebounded Mataro Feimat 43-28 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Point guard Albert Valle (181-92) scored 25 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Jordi Pujolreu (-96) chipped in 10 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Four Martorell players scored in double figures. At the losing side Jaume Sole (195-91) responded with 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and forward David Romero (191-90) scored 14 points. Mataro Feimat's coach Charly Giralt rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Martorell have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place in Group C-A. Loser Mataro Feimat keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Martorell will face Calvia (#14) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Mataro Feimat's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Mataro to the arena Mataro Parc Boet.
