Regular Season Round 10: Gifu Swoops - Kagoshima 64-74

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Gifu Swoops (4-11) were defeated at home by seventh ranked Kagoshima (4-11) 74-64 on Saturday. Point guard Atomu Yamada (179-98) fired 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. American center Antone Warren (208-93, college: Antelope Valley CC) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. Five Kagoshima players scored in double figures. Ito Ryota produced 25 points and Canadian center Michael Allison (206-90, college: Maine) added 19 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Kagoshima have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated Gifu Swoops. Gifu Swoops lost fifth consecutive game. Kagoshima will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gifu Swoops will play again against Kagoshima (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
