The game between closely ranked teams ended with 11th ranked Martinenc's (3-7) home loss to tenth ranked Alfinden (5-5) 62-70 on Saturday. Alfinden made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Alfinden outrebounded Martinenc 45-31 including 33 on the defensive glass. Power forward Jose Malo (203-96) scored 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Italian-Argentinian swingman Matias Lescano (196-79) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side guard Marc Sese (190-93) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Aitor Perez (203-88) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Martinenc players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Alfinden moved-up to sixth place in Group C-B, which they share with Castelldefels and JAC Sants. Martinenc at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eleventh position with seven games lost. Alfinden will face JAC Sants (#7) in Barcelona in the next round. Martinenc will play on the road against Sant Josep (#4) in Badalona and hope to win that game.
