Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Palermo GB and 12th ranked Pozzuoli had identical 2-6 record. But Pozzuoli was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Palermo 71-70 on Saturday night. Power forward Giuseppe Caronna (206-94) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and point guard Marco Giancarli (179-95) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Gennaro Tessitore (189-82) with 23 points and 4 assists and power forward Matteo Bini (200-94) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Four Pozzuoli players scored in double figures. Palermo GB maintains eleventh place in B with 3-6 record, which they share with Crema and Desio. Newly promoted Pozzuoli dropped to the thirteenth position with seven games lost. Palermo GB will face higher ranked Roma Luiss (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pozzuoli will play against Olimpia Matera (#6) and hope to win that game.
