No shocking result in a game when first ranked Sendai 89ers (14-4) won against at home 4th ranked Orange Vikings (6-12) 90-80 on Saturday. Sendai 89ers made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Sendai 89ers outrebounded Orange Vikings 41-27 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 18 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) chipped in 26 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Sendai 89ers players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 17 rebounds and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and guard Keisuke Takabatake (183-90) scored 15 points and 4 assists. Orange Vikings' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sendai 89ers maintains first position with 14-4 record. Loser Orange Vikings keep the fourth place with 12 games lost. Sendai 89ers will face again Orange Vikings (#5) in Matsuyama in the next round.
