There was a surprise result in Valdarno where tenth ranked Umbertide (5-4) won against 4th placed San Giovanni (5-3) 87-82 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Croatian forward Andrijana Cvitkovic (190-94, college: Dayton, agency: Interperformances) who scored 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Forward Federica Giudice (180-0) chipped in 23 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Argentinian swingman Macarena Rosset (178-91) who recorded 28 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Maria Lazzaro (178-96) added 15 points respectively. Umbertide moved-up to eighth place in A2. Loser San Giovanni dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Umbertide will face Pistoia (#13) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
