Everything went according to plan when top-ranked Marbella (8-0) beat on the road 4th ranked Cazorla (4-4) 66-58 on Saturday. They outrebounded Cazorla 40-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. American swingman Charles Knowles (196-93, college: William Penn) scored 22 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Senegalese center Bruno Diatta (208-96) chipped in 11 points and 18 rebounds during the contest. Four Marbella players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Dante Thompson (201, college: Goldey-Beacom) responded with 18 points and 9 rebounds and guard Daniel Saunders (196-94, college: Lenoir CC) scored 10 points. Marbella have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group D-A with 8-0 record. Loser Cazorla dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. Marbella will face Coin (#4) at home in the next round. Cazorla will play against Almeria and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
