Regular Season Round 8: TBV Start - BM Slam Stal 88-83

Very important is a road loss of second ranked BM Slam Stal (6-2) against tenth ranked Start (4-4) on Saturday night. Visiting BM Slam Stal was defeated by Start in a tough game in Lublin 83-88. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of BM Slam Stal. Strangely BM Slam Stal outrebounded Start 37-23 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Start especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. American point guard James Washington (182-87, college: Middle Tenn.St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 assists. Serbian power forward Uros Mirkovic (205-82, agency: BeoExcell) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) for the winners. Vincentian center Shawn King (208-82, college: ORU, agency: Pensack Sports) replied with 8 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists and Montenegrin Ivan Maras (207-86) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for BM Slam Stal. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Start maintains tenth position with 4-4 record. BM Slam Stal at the other side keeps the second place with two games lost. They share the position with Polski Cukier. Start will play against higher ranked Asseco Arka (#4) in Gdynia in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. BM Slam Stal will play at home against AZS Koszalin and hopes to get back on the winning track.
