Regular Season Round 11: Fyllingen BBK - Asker Aliens 96-87

Very expected game when 9th ranked Asker Aliens (1-10) were defeated on the road by third ranked Fyllingen BBK (9-4) 96-87 on Sunday. Asker Aliens were trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 29-16 charge of Fyllingen BBK, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Asker Aliens' 34. They outrebounded Asker Aliens 43-24 including a 32-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian forward Marius Sumskis (202-88) who scored 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Magne Fivelstad (198-89, college: Barry) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds. American point guard Jerrod Hendricks (175-91, college: King) produced 28 points, 8 assists and 5 steals and guard Ludvig Bergh (177-98) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Fyllingen BBK and four Asker Aliens players scored in double figures. Fyllingen BBK maintains third place with 9-4 record having four points less than leader Gimle BBK. Loser Asker Aliens dropped to the bottom position with ten games lost. Fyllingen BBK will meet Tromso (#6) on the road in the next round. Asker Aliens will play against Nidaros Jets (#8) in Tromdheim and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
