There was a surprise result in Barcelona where eighth ranked JAC Sants (5-5) defeated much higher ranked Mollet (8-2) 67-57 on Sunday. They outrebounded Mollet 52-34 including a 38-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when JAC Sants made 7 blocks. Center Marc Ruf (203-97) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 17 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and center Carles Gimeno (197-98) chipped in 7 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 blocks during the contest. At the losing side forward Lluis Jacas (198-90) responded with 21 points and point guard Marc Pages (178-95) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Mollet's coach Josep Maria Marsa rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. JAC Sants moved-up to sixth place in Group C-B, which they share with Castelldefels and Alfinden. Loser Mollet keeps the second position with two games lost. JAC Sants will face Alfinden (#6) in Zaragoza in the next round. Mollet will play on the road against the league's leader Pardinyes-L. (#1) in Lleida and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
