Regular Season Round 7: Al-Qazeres - Sant Adria 89-57
Date: November 25, 2018
Very expected game in Caceres where 12th ranked Sant Adria (1-6) was rolled over by eighth ranked Al-Qazeres (3-4) 89-57 on Sunday. It was a great shooting night for Al-Qazeres especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Sant Adria's players. It was a great evening for Italian-Paraguayan swingman Paola Ferrari (178-85, college: Union, TN, agency: ProDep Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). American center Akela Maize (196-96, college: NC State) helped adding 18 points and 13 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Five Al-Qazeres players scored in double figures. At the losing side Danish forward Maria Jespersen (183-94, college: S.Florida) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and Mali center Minata Keita (190-89) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Al-Qazeres maintains eighth place with 3-4 record. Loser Sant Adria dropped to the thirteenth position with six games lost. Al-Qazeres will meet higher ranked Valencia (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sant Adria will play against AE Sedis (#5) and hope to win that game.
