And what about another game where Ardoi (#2) beat Mondragon 79-78 on the road. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Mondragon. It was a key game for the top position in Group A-A. Ardoi dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Mondragon's 24. Strangely Mondragon outrebounded Ardoi 40-25 including 29 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Dominican forward Rafa Matos (191-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Center Andres Zabaleta (200-94) contributed with 22 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Power forward Martin Buesa (204-88) replied with 31 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Dani Lorenzo (181-93) added 14 points in the effort for Mondragon. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Ardoi have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group A-A leader, which they share with Univ.Burgos and Valle de Egues. Mondragon at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. Ardoi's next round opponent will be Easo (#12) in San Sebastian which should be an easy win for them. Mondragon will play on the road against Pas Pielagos (#5) in Renedo de Pielagos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
