There was an upset when second-best Olimpia Matera (7-2) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Capo d'Orlando (2-7) 83-75 on Sunday. Capo d'Orlando made 28-of-34 free shots (82.4 percent) during the game, while Olimpia Matera only scored nine points from the stripe. They outrebounded Olimpia Matera 45-28 including 32 on the defensive glass. Olimpia Matera was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Center Riccardo Bartolozzi (201-95) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 19 rebounds for the winners and Bosnian point guard Amar Balic (180-96) chipped in 16 points and 9 assists. Four Capo d'Orlando players scored in double figures. Capo d'Orlando moved-up to twelfth place in B, which they share with Olginate. Loser Olimpia Matera dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. Capo d'Orlando will face higher ranked Palestrina (#7) in Roma in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
