Regular Season Round 10: Cartagena - L'Alfas 79-99

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Cartagena (1-6) was outplayed at home by fifth ranked L'Alfas (3-4) 99-79 on Sunday. L'Alfas dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Cartagena's 44. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American power forward Willie Williams-III (200-88, college: Bridgeport) had a double-double by scoring 44 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (on 18-of-21 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Uruguayan guard Claudio Bascou (189-89) chipped in 21 points, 11 assists and 4 steals during the contest. At the losing side Sudanese-American forward Aluk Adub (198, college: Florida Memorial) responded with 23 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Kyauta Taylor (188, college: Notre Dame, OH) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Cartagena's coach Paco Guillem rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. L'Alfas maintains fifth position in Group E-B with 3-4 record. Loser Cartagena keeps the seventh place with six games lost. L'Alfas will face league's leader UCAM Murcia II at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
