Libertadores managed to secure a 6-point victory 110-104 on Sunday. Libertadores outrebounded Correcaminos 37-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. American power forward Gerard DeVaughn (206-88, college: Stillman) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 16 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). His fellow American import swingman Brent Jackson (193-94, college: Columbus St.) contributed with 28 points and 6 assists for the winners. DeVaughn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. International guard Jose-David Estrada (194-94, college: High School, agency: Pro Sports) answered with 25 points and 4 assists and American guard Kennedy Jones (188-89, college: Arlington Baptist) added 25 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) in the effort for Correcaminos. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Libertadores maintains sixth place with 5-10 record. Loser Correcaminos keep the fourth position with eight games lost. Libertadores will face league's second-placed Fuerza Regia in Monterrey in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Correcaminos will play at home against Soles and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
