Undefeated Sleza Wroclaw (6-1) recorded its first loss at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski (5-2) 78-62. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Sleza Wroclaw. The best player for the winners was Belarusian forward Maryia Papova (189-94) who scored 30 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). American point guard Sharnee Zoll-Norman (170-86, college: Virginia) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski's coach Dariusz Maciejewski used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Sydney Colson (170-89, college: Texas A&M, agency: LBM Management) produced 15 points and 5 assists and her fellow American import Cierra Burdick (188-93, college: Tennessee, agency: LBM Management) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Despite that victory AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski went down to seventh position due to points difference. Sleza Wroclaw at the other side keeps the second place with one game lost. They share the position with Wisla Krakow. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski are looking forward to face higher ranked Artego Bydg. (#5) in Bydgoszcz in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sleza Wroclaw will play on the road against Wisla Krakow and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
