Regular Season Round 7: Broni - San Martino 75-74

The most exciting game of round 7 in the Serie A1 took place in Broni. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked San Martino (4-3) to fourth ranked Broni (5-2) 75-74 on Sunday evening. It was a great shooting night for Broni especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. It was a great evening for American swingman Julie Wojta (183-89, college: Green Bay, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 assists. Serbian-Bosnian center Nikolina Milic (191-94, agency: LBM Management) helped adding 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Broni players scored in double figures. At the losing side American swingman Tyaunna Marshall (175-92, college: Georgia Tech) responded with 28 points and 7 assists (made all of her ten free throws !!!) and Latvian center Zenta Melnika (197-91) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Broni have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Napoli. San Martino at the other side keeps the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Ragusa. Broni is looking forward to face Battipaglia (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. San Martino will play against the league's second-placed Familia Schio (#2) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
