Regular Season Round 7: Melbourne - Adelaide 84-82

Seventh-ranked Adelaide Lightning (3-6) made lots of trouble for first ranked Boomers (8-4) in Melbourne. Boomers managed to secure only two-point victory 84-82. However their fans expected much easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Jenna OHea (185-87) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 5 assists. American guard Lindsay Allen (173-95, college: Notre Dame) contributed with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American forward Nia Coffey (185-95, college: Northwestern, agency: LBM Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 19 rebounds and guard Lauren Nicholson (183-93, college: St.Mary's, CA) added 18 points in the effort for Adelaide Lightning. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Boomers maintains first place with 8-4 record. Adelaide Lightning lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with six games lost. Boomers will play against Townsville Fire (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Adelaide Lightning will play against Canberra Capitals and hopes to get back on the winning track.
