Regular Season Round 8: Galil Gilboa - Ashdod 103-95

There was no surprise in Rosh Pina where 6th ranked Maccabi Ashdod (3-4) was defeated by third ranked Galil Gilboa (6-2) 103-95. Galil Gilboa forced 22 Maccabi Ashdod turnovers. American forward Greg Whittington (203-93, college: Rutgers) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). The other American import guard Ian Miller (190-91, college: Florida St.) contributed with 21 points and 6 assists for the winners. American-Mexican point guard Paul Stoll (180-85) replied with 27 points and 4 steals and American forward Landon Milbourne (201-87, college: Maryland) added 25 points and 5 assists in the effort for Maccabi Ashdod. Five Galil Gilboa and four Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. Maccabi Ashdod's coach Brad Greenberg rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Galil Gilboa moved-up to second place, which they share with Hapoel Holon. Maccabi Ashdod at the other side keeps the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Hapoel B/S. Galil Gilboa will play against Bnei Hasharon (#9) in Hod Hasharon in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Maccabi Ashdod will play at home against Hapoel Eilat and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
