Regular Season Round 15: Shanxi - Sichuan 89-80

Everything went according to plan in Taiyuan where sixth ranked Flame (10-5) won against 12th ranked Blue Whales (6-9) 89-80 on Tuesday. They outrebounded Blue Whales 43-32 including 33 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for international Di Wu (186-90) who led her team to a victory scoring 34 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international center Wei Wei (206-89) helped adding 16 points and 14 rebounds. Four Flame players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Belarusian center Yelena Leuchanka (196-83, college: W.Virginia) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds and forward Xuetong Zhao (185-94) scored 29 points and 5 rebounds. Blue Whales' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Flame moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Beijing and Shandong. Blue Whales at the other side keep the twelfth position with nine games lost. Flame will meet at home Sports Lottery (#5) in the next round. Blue Whales will play against Beijing Great Wall (#7) and hope to secure a win.
