Regular Season Round 9: Lahti - Porvoon Tarmo 125-59

Very expected game when 11th ranked Porvoon Tarmo (1-6) was crushed on the road by leader Lahti (7-0) 125-59 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Lahti led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Porvoon Tarmo's 28. Lahti forced 23 Porvoon Tarmo turnovers and outrebounded Porvoon Tarmo 49-23 including a 35-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lahti shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Porvoon Tarmo's players. Guard Sami Ikavalko (187-89) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners and swingman Hannes Koskinen (188-98) chipped in 22 points and 5 rebounds. Four Lahti players scored in double figures. Lahti's coach Petri Velling felt very confident that he used 11 players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was center Otso Laakkonen (200-93) with 17 points and Tuomas Heikkila (200-99) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Lahti maintains first place in Division with 7-0 record. Loser Porvoon Tarmo keeps the eleventh position with six games lost. Lahti will face Forssan Koripojat (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Porvoon Tarmo will play against HNMKY and hope to win that game.
