Regular Season Round 15: Wuhan - Jiangsu 68-86

Bottom-ranked Wuhan (0-15) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 86-68 loss to third ranked Jiangsu Phoenix (12-3) in . Jiangsu Phoenix outrebounded Wuhan 43-29 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Canadian Natalie Achonwa (190-92, college: Notre Dame) who led her team to a victory with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Qingyun Li (185-95) contributed with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Jiangsu Phoenix players scored in double figures. American power forward Amber Harris (195-88, college: Xavier) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and forward Jing Fu (180-96) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Wuhan. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Jiangsu Phoenix. They maintain third place with 12-3 record having just three points less than leader Guangdong. Wuhan lost their fifteenth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with 15 games lost. Jiangsu Phoenix will play against Dragons (#11) in Daqing in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Wuhan will play on the road against Red Wolves (#15) in Weinan and hopes to get finally their first victory.
