No shocking result in a game in Jiyuan where fourth ranked Magic Deer (11-4) defeated 9th ranked Henan Phoenix (8-7) 76-66 on Tuesday. Magic Deer dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Henan Phoenix's 30. It was a great evening for American center Natasha Howard (190-91, college: Florida St., agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds. Center Xu Han (206) helped adding 10 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was forward Jie Sun (187-91) with 26 points and center Lingge Zhang (187-99) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Magic Deer. They maintain fourth place with 11-4 record. Newly promoted Henan Phoenix dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with Shanghai and Hebei. Magic Deer will meet Golden Bulls (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Henan Phoenix will play against the league's leader Vermilion Birds (#1) and hope to secure a win.
