Regular Season Round 9: HyPo - Kouvot 91-63

An interesting game for HyPo (8-1) which hosted in Hyvinkaa 4th placed Kouvottaret (5-5). First ranked HyPo had an easy win 91-63. The game was mostly controlled by HyPo. Kouvottaret was better in fourth quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. HyPo players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Kouvottaret's players. American guard Randi Brown (170-96, college: New Orleans) stepped up and scored 27 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and the former international center Taru Tuukkanen (192-77, college: Xavier) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four HyPo players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American-Cameroonian center Brittany Starling (183-94, college: USC Upstate, agency: ProDep Management) with 9 points and 16 rebounds and American swingman Camille Zimmerman (184-95, college: Columbia) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. HyPo have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-1 record. Kouvottaret at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with FoA. HyPo will play against Helmi Basket (#8) in Helsinki in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kouvottaret will have a break next round.
