Regular Season Round 7: Montana - Buducnost 102-100

The most exciting game of round 7 in the WABA took place in Montana. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Montenegrin Buducnost (2-3) to fifth ranked Bulgarian Montana 2003 (3-3) 102-100 in the game for the fourth place. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 21-12 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Montana 2003 outrebounded Buducnost 52-34 including a 21-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Buducnost's players. 34 personal fouls committed by Buducnost helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Ukrainian point guard Olga Dubrovina (171-87) fired a triple-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Power forward Dimana Georgieva (188-88) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds. Bosnian guard Nikolina Babic (177-95, agency: BeoBasket) produced 26 points and 6 assists and Bosnian center Nikolina Dzebo (186-95) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Buducnost's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending Bulgarian champion moved-up to fourth place. Defending Montenegrin champion Buducnost dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Montana 2003 are looking forward to face Triglav (#6) in Kranj in the next round. Buducnost will play at home against Tresnjevka and is hoping to win this game.
