Rather expected game in Rio de Janeiro where 12th ranked Sao Jose (2-8) was defeated by tenth ranked Vasco Da G. (4-5) 81-77 on Thursday. It was a great evening for point guard Vithor Lersch (184-95) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. The former international guard Eduardo Machado (193-82) helped adding 25 points. Vinicius Oliveira (200-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and Douglas Nunes (208-87) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Vasco Da G. moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Joinville and Corinthians. Sao Jose lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with eight games lost. They share it with B.Cearense. Vasco Da G. is looking forward to face SKY/Basquete (#13) in Aldeota in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Sao Jose will have a break next round.
